Nakushita vs. The Balrog (rant)
When the Fellowship entered Moria you knew it wasent going to end well, and when you saw Gandalf square off against the giant flaming Balrog, you thought two things: “See ya later Gandalf” and “I must have that servant of Morgoth in plastic form!”
Well, it’s been plenty of long years and there have been plenty of rumors about the infamous Balrog, and now it looks like the flaming menace might actually see the light of day, at least it will if your wallet is big enough. What’s the deal with this “Most hyped up figure ever” The very claim is laughable. Maybe someone thought if they put this on the front page of there web site NECA would come by and think the Balrog a fantastic idea with plenty of fan support, and just maybe there are thousands of people out there willing to shell out loads of cash to get one. Come on people, lets get real, first of all the existence of the Balrog is still unknown, it may not see the light of day. But you have to give HUGE props to NECA for giving it a shot. Even if they produce the figure long after the movie hype is dead.
Another fact is the availability of the Balrog to the average collector, we pushed and pushed to see it made and we signed every petition we could find, not to mention writing e-mails to NECA. Now some won’t even get to see the final product! My reasoning is ½ price and the other ½ is collecting prince able. I have gotten every figure in my collection from retail (a complete collection) If I just sat on a computer and pushed buttons and waited for the figures to come to my door, it would be defeating. Although I understand ordering online if you have poor distribution or high gas prices in your area.
My final point: If you get your Balrog I hope you appreciate all the e-mails I sent NECA and all the petitions I signed, just do me a favor and hug your Balrog for me.

Are you going to let your desire to buy every figure at retail get in the way of obtaining a Balrog? I dont see how ordering it would destroy all your efforts, especially if online is the only place to go for it, assuming it is made.

Re: Nakushita vs. The Balrog (rant)
I can understand where you're coming from Nakushita, but I can't imagine that opening up that bad boy with your brother wouldn't be another awesome memory!
The price issue is definitely a consideration, but I'll wager that if you saved your pennies between now and Christmas, you'd have enough to buy it. In fact, I've pre-ordered two of them... If I end up actually GETTING both, I'll hold one for you until you can pay.... it may not be ideal, but if it's the only way, I wouldn't pass it up.
Besides, I used to live in Utah and it holds a special place in my heart...so you get to reap the benefit of my attachment (if you want, of course). Are you in Salt Lake City?

Thanks Grinman, I will definitly give that idea some serious thought, I live in West Valley (about a half-hour from Salt Lake.) Although I attend the University of Utah, so I almost live there.
