Single-Carded Boromir OFF THE CARD Pics!!
Alrighty, I've braved the collectors Dwimorberg and opned up a Single-Pack Boromir, and taken some high-res pics.I will refer to him as Boromir Reforged, because that's what he is in essence - the figure we should have been given long ago. The little extras improve Boromir to a great extent, representing the fallen one of the Fellowship in all his Amon Hen majesty.
Each post will deal with something different, aswell as a picture to illustrate the point. If you want a picture of a certain feature of the figure, let me know and I'll snap it. This could go into the Review section of the board, but because Boromir Reforged is new,a nd hopefully in the near future of many of you, I've used the palantir.
The first picture shows Boromir Reforged. You will notice that his cloak has a Lothlorien leaf brooch, It is not a clip like that of Pippin/Merry, but akin to the cloaks of Legolas, fastened to the neck. (More on this connection later).
The most obvious change is one small articulation point.. THE LEFT ARM SHOULDER. That's right, Boromir no longer has to have his arm in horn position - the Left arm can now be placed next to the body akin to the right. By far this fixes old awkward pose and lets Boromir Reforged relax.

This next picture shows a comparison shot of both Boromir's. You will note that Boromir Reforged has a darker red color on his sleeves than the original. Mud makes more of an appearnece on Boromir Reforged, defining the boots more clearly. The sheath difference in colour and size is also shown

This next picture defines not only the difference in the cloak of the original and Reforged Boromir, but also highlights the difference in hair colour. Boromir Reforged has a darker shade of hair, with the strands defined more by the paint job than the original.

Some of you may recognise the cloak. I figured it out from a few observations. The below attachment is a picture of the bubble pastic that the figure was obviously packed in. If you follow the bottom of the cloak up, you will see a bulge of plastic with a number (Boromir 81149) Now at first I thought this bubble was there for a quiver, but dismissing that I thought, hey, Toybiz had scuplted Boromir's bag in FOTR.

But when writing this up I noticed that the Lothlorien brooch was exactly the same (non-clip) to that of Legolas' cloaks, and so I checked up and saw that Boromir's new cloak is indeed HD Legolas' (Series 4) cloak with a paint job, minus the quiver. The below picture confirms it. I don't own the HD Legolas (didn't see a need for him) and therefore didn't recognise it straight off. You can therefore paint HD Legolas' cloak and put it on Boromir for those non-MIB collectors; which is finally giving a use to HD Legolas!!

Now to the weapons.
Boromir Reforged's sword is much harder plastic than the original, and is the true representation of Boromir blade, hilt and handle.

Boromir Reforged's shield has clearly less definition in its specific paint application, but more a gradual brown hue.

Boromir Reforged's horn is a little longer and has a slightly different paint application is some parts, i.e mouth piece. It also only has a small thread on it, instead of the longer thread of the original Boromir.

Boromir Reforged's dagger is small, but oh so pretty. It matched the design of his Gonodrian buckles and sword.

Something hidden from everything I've read from all Boromir Reforged descriptions is the daggers scabbard! Toybiz didn't go cheap on this one. On Boromir Reforged's back, under his cloak, lies the daggers scabbard, leaving hands free if need be. Very cool. This picture also illustrates the extant of the mud around the figure.

Well that's it, not many changes, minor here and there, with a cloak repack. But such little things have added to a better representation of Amon Hen Boromir. He just seems more complete in stature, with weapons and overall respect. Any Boromir fan will extremely enjoy this figure. To close, here's another picture. Hope you enjoyed them.

WOW! I'm definitely glad I won this one off ebay. A scabbard for the dagger!? ToyBiz really put some effort into this one! And the sword looks much better!
It'll hopefully arrive anyday now.
